The Whale Who Collected Tomorrows
The loose wishes stopped bumping about and began to spin together, hush-hush, as if they knew a secret. Ori followed slowly, bells giving a tiny ching-ching, while Peep tucked in close and muttered, “I don’t like secrets that fly faster than me.”
The winding trail led them into a still little hollow where old tomorrows drifted with no names. Peep’s voice came out small. “Nobody asked for them?”
Ori gazed at the dim bubbles and answered, “Or maybe somebody wanted them, but never dared say so aloud.”
